About the Team:

The Commercial finance team Is Integral to the commercial success of giffgaff. We business partner the Commerce, Product and Marketing teams to ensure that all channels, products and propositions deliver the best value for giffgaff. We also provide financial planning & analysis to the business to show the performance of the P&L and KPIs, along with producing outlooks, forecasts and budgets to Identify risks & opportunities to that performance.


About the Role:

This role will report Into the SIM Finance Manager. 

You will use your analytical skills to produce great analysis, insight and reporting that will influence business stakeholders and provide your recommendations on how to drive commercial value.

The role will include producing rolling forecasts, budgets, business cases, investment appraisals and driving actions on the back of the monthly results.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Business partnering - forming strong relationships with the commerce team and product owners. Driving the strategy for our offline channels with the maximisation of shareholder wealth in mind.
  • Analysis - owning and updating financial models. Recognising trends and providing actionable insights and recommendations based on both past performance and future forecasts. Working closely with our BI team to ensure maximisation of synergies between the two teams.
  • Reporting - providing weekly and monthly reports around performance and trends to relevant stakeholders. Recognising key drivers and influencing decision making.
  • Month end - supporting the financial control team on relevant cost lines and ensuring the commercial performance is reflected in the P&L.
  • Forecasting - support the delivery of accurate outlooks, forecasts, and yearly budgets. Working with the team to ensure they are a realistic reflection of performance and highlighting any risks or opportunities.


What We Need from You:

  • Graduate with a numeric degree, 2.1 or better.
  • The ambition to study for a professional finance qualification (CIMA / ACCA) and to progress to the next level.
  • Strong analytical skills, including excel modelling and ideally SQL programming (or a desire to learn these skills)
  • Pro-active and driven with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Good communicator, positive, a team-player that is curious and customer focused.
  • Relevant work experience
