About the Team:


The core mission of the Data Science Team is to deliver advanced data analytics and machine learning solutions to help the business make timely decisions and deliver technology innovations, contributing to retention, acquisition and member experience goals. The team works horizontally with all areas of the business and has a strong technology focus to deliver Machine Learning and AI solutions into our products.


About the Role:


The role involves delivery of advanced analytics pipelines using a variety of modelling techniques and development of machine learning solutions that improve our products / services and maximise business impact.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Demonstrate strategic leadership on driving data science technical foundations, while focusing on applications that address core business challenges
  • Design and run experiments to collect and process relevant data for training and building machine learning models
  • Implement automated analytical pipelines to deliver a variety of business insights (predictive analytics, anomaly detection, NLP, etc.)
  • Work closely with the Data Science Principal Engineer to deploy machine learning models into our production system
  • Recruit, train and drive the continuous technical development of the data scientists in the team


What We Need from You:


  • 3+ years experience in leading data science projects, including mentoring or line-managing more junior data scientists
  • Strong track record of deploying machine learning solutions, include deep learning models, in a variety of applications (e.g. predictive analytics, natural language processing, anomaly detection, etc.)
  • Strong experience in Python coding, with very proficient use of core data science libraries, as well as familiarity with deep learning libraries (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras)
  • Experience working with SQL databases
  • Some experience with big data technologies (e.g. Spark), familiarity with test-driven development and agile development methodologies would be a plus
