About the Team:

The Commercial finance team Is Integral to the commercial success of giffgaff.   We business partner the Commerce, Product and Marketing teams to ensure that all channels, products and propositions deliver the best value for giffgaff. We also provide financial planning & analysis to the business to show the performance of the P&L and KPIs, along with producing outlooks, forecasts and budgets to Identify risks & opportunities to that performance.

 

About the Role:

The role will report into the Senior Phones Analyst.  It will play a key role collaborating and busines partnering the giffgaff handset teams and other stakeholders across the business to help deliver a strong long term financial performance within the phones business.

Carrying out weekly reporting, pricing, and market trend analysis, and supporting key processes such as stock purchasing, price changes and promotional planning.

Assisting in the provision of monthly outlooks and forecasts for the giffgaff handset channel, highlighting risks and opportunities.  Working with financial control to ensure outlooks are aligned with the to the P&L at month end.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business partnering: Supporting the handsets team on key processes such as weekly handset price changes, stock purchasing, vendor funding and promotional planning.
  • Analysis: Provide analysis of the evolving handset market, highlighting trends in pricing, new releases, and competitor promotions - making actionable recommendations.
  • Reporting: Weekly reporting of key performance metrics to relevant stakeholders and understanding the metric key drivers to inform decision making.
  • Forecasting: Support the delivery of accurate outlooks, forecasts, and yearly handset budgets. Working with the team to ensure they are a realistic reflection of performance and highlighting any risks or opportunities.
  • Month End: Working with financial control at month end carry out reconciliations to ensure commercial performance is reflected in the P&L.

 

What We Need from You:

  • Graduate with a numeric degree, 2.1 or better.
  • The ambition to study for a professional finance qualification (CIMA / ACCA) and to progress to the next level.
  • Strong analytical skills, including excel modelling and ideally SQL programming (or a desire to learn these skills)
  • Pro-active and driven with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Good communicator, positive, a team-player that is curious and customer focused.
  • Relevant work experience
