The role and the team :

The Insights team work closely with the strategists, keeping giffgaff updated and informed about the health of the brand, key market and competitor developments and most importantly what that means for this business ‘the so what’ and how/what to action. Member & market insight is highly sought after and valued by everyone at giffgaff.

 

The role is accountable for keeping the business informed of developments within the competitor set and the overall marketplace, you will be responsible for in-depth analysis of our competitive position using the external and internal data sources including brand & media metrics available to you.  You will be working closely with Third party providers and our Business Intelligence & Commercial directorates to deliver insight to build deeper business performance understanding. This role would suit anyone passionate about using data to make better business decisions and who is happy to roll up their sleeves to make it happen.

 

Key responsibilities :

  • Take ownership of all aspects of market & competitor intelligence at giffgaff
  • Analyse and help the business understand competitor price & promotions in the market.
  • Shed light on ‘business blindspots’, challenge assumptions about the industry, markets, and work collaboratively to help strengthen member insight
  • Support the development and evolution of data analytics visualisation within the business, leading efforts for continuous improvement to existing processes and methodologies to create efficiencies
  • Deliver Brand Health tracking & lead on advertising campaign evaluations to marketing team stakeholders
  • Opportunity to  provide end to end management of ad-hoc member research projects including taking briefs, building in-house surveys or working with agency partners and project managing the research.
  • Work closely with the Member Community team who build and manage our member insight panel to ensure member insight is at the heart of decision making in the business.
  • Connect with and build relationships with your peers at VMO2
  • Deliver inspirational, action orientated and professional standard business reporting & research
  • Help enrich the giffgaff Insight team by mentoring junior team mates, identify new ways and seek out best practice, and helping expand the use & application of insights at giffgaff

 

Skills, experience and attitudes :

  • An outstanding analyst with experience in market & competitive insights- interpreting & triangulating data from different sources into meaningful information and actions
  • Highly numerate with advanced analytical skills & ability to prepare compelling presentations
  • Outstanding Excel & Powerpoint skills
  • Familiar with market intelligence data sources used in the connectivity industry
  • Commercially minded with a keen interest in connectivity  brands, trends, people and culture
  • Experienced in consumer survey questionnaire building & subsequent output analysis
  • Possess flexibility and experience of delivering results in a fast-paced and ambiguous work environment
  • Familiarity with Qualtrics/Medallia or similar is desirable
  • Familiarity with Tableau is desirable
