About the role

 

We are looking for a Senior iOS Engineer with passion, energy, a strong desire to learn and improve and a commitment to driving our product journey forward. You’ll have to make tough decisions, implement best practices and provide compromises when situations are not ideal. The candidate will have experience of working in Agile teams preferably in the Digital domain.
 
The Senior iOS Engineer will be helping to build highly scalable apps as a member of O2’s IT Consumer and SMB team. Working under the vision of a product owner and alongside developers, UX, operational experts and our delivery team, you will be responsible for making sure that features are delivered with the highest possible quality.
 
You will work closely with the development and design teams to create products that are consistent, highly usable, reliable and performant. You will be expected to utilise industry best practice app development.
 
We expect you to collaborate within the team as well as push new ideas for the wider business on better ways to do things. We expect you will take pride in any platform that you build and manage
 

Key responsibilities

 

•    The role involves working closely with other developers and Scrum team members and contributing to team-wide initiatives. Strong written and verbal communication skills are key.
•    Ability to grow influence with wider stakeholders in the team as well as key touch points in the business. Experience of showing initiative to get things done
•    Active member of the agile product team, sprint planning, backlog grooming and task estimation as well as other tasks as part of an agile development team
•    Cross team collaboration to assess system usage trends and identify potential performance constraints, working with other developers to pinpoint issues and come up with solutions
•    Improve continuous software integration and deployment models within a Mobile DevOps environment. Implementing and improving TDD/BDD methodologies and supporting and contributing to test automation efforts
 

Key skills/behaviours/experiences

 

•    Expert knowledge of Swift, with the ability to write testable, maintainable and performant code.
•    Solid understanding of Object Oriented Programming, Protocol Oriented Programming and dependency injection
•    Appreciation of Apple UI design principles, interface guidelines, patterns, and best practices
•    Excellent knowledge of software and theoretical principles of computing
•    Excellent knowledge of MVVM with a focus on loosely coupled code
•    Good experience of mobile CI/CD, Git, Fastlane 
•    Ability to use presentation tools and create diagrams, models, flowcharts and layouts to articulate software capabilities
•    Experience of working with Product Managers on PoC’s and providing demos and feedback for new best of breed technologies
•    Must have experience working within an Agile / Scrum development environment
