About the role

Reporting to B2B Lead Developer, the Senior Developer works within a multi-disciplinary scrum team responsible for the development, configuration, and management of VMO2 B2B platforms including single-page web applications and their integration with other business platforms.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise in projects representing IT in multi-functional teams /squads. Work cross-domain as part of the wider technical team to ensure interoperability with other developments and to guide other team members.
  • Participate in the development, configuration, and maintenance of VMO2 B2B platforms within the Digital domain, leading on a subset of application components, and their integration with other business platforms to ensure the overall success of the department.
  • Ensure that platform development is implemented in a secure, coherent, and consistent manner and that planned platform developments are compatible with the organisation’s existing platforms, infrastructure, and transformation goals.
  • Maintain all source code related to software development activities under standard version control and configuration management processes
  • Ensure that all work follows approved methods and standards and conforms to agreed quality, is maintained under version control and configuration management, including participating in code review, automated unit & integration testing, and user documentation
  • Chip in to the development of methods, standards, and best practice.
  • Own risks and resolve issues associated with technical debt, application life cycle, security, and compliance
  • Provide DevSecOps advocacy across all B2B Technology Platform domains.
  • Responsible for handling key Partner expectations and communications
  • Ensure appropriate governance controls are in place and maintained to align with relevant security, compliance, and financial standards
  • Act as a key member and contributor to their peers to ensure overall success of the department


What We Need from You:

Essential Skills:

  • Shown experience in the design, development and debugging of large-scale multi-user single page applications in microservices architecture
  • Recognised expertise in the technical specialism, the technology involved, current developments, the most commonly available products, and the application of the specialism within a technical or business environment
  • Shown experience in applying and extending standard methodology techniques such as OO, design patterns and principles
  • Detailed knowledge of Angular, including NGRX and NX, and any NodeJS framework
  • Experience of implementing solutions in cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), including using Kubernetes
  • Expertise with application lifecycle management CI/CD DevOps tooling. E.g. Jira, GitLab
  • Shown ability to efficiently connect with all levels to ensure mutual and shared understanding, including ability to translate sophisticated technical issues into business language and to handle partner expectations
  • Experience in delivering sophisticated technology transformation programmes using SDLC methods such as Waterfall, SAFe/Agile, XP etc.
  • Demonstrable ability to work in and lead programs and projects that support major technical platform roll out and/or migration
  • Tenacious and steadfast in their drive for results. Seeking to achieve simplicity for our customers and employees
