Role purpose:

 

You will be a part of a team of strategic and creative thinkers responsible for broadening the product portfolio of what we offer to our customers. You will work with partners in the wider group and broader market to conceptualize innovative propositions rooted into rich customer insights to form the basis of new Customer-focussed products, services and consumer experiences, that will support the Mobile Division’s 3-year plan.

 

Key Accountabilities and Deliverables:

 

Work with Customer & Market Intelligence, Commercial teams, Sales Channels and Service teams to identify opportunities for growth through proposition development

You will define areas of focus for our future strategy and innovation agenda

You will identify gaps in the offering to address unmet consumer needs

Running a proposed development project, responsible for defining, validating and agreeing on the details of new product, service and CX propositions.

You will gather consumer, competitive trends and insights and use them to conceptualise new proposition ideas.

You will run structured ideation sessions or sprints with a multifunctional group to brainstorm and prioritise new concept ideas.

You will define and validate key proposition elements: the target segment, problem/pain point addressed, high-level solution.

You will review the role that new concepts could have as they are integrated into existing services or propositions.

You will consider the high-level customer experience eg how can customers find, buy, and experience the solution at POS and in life

You will consider suitable channels and ways to target and engage with customers.

You will seek to define the high-level shape of potential business and operating model.

 

Essential skills:

 

  • Proven innovation or product management experience. You will have held roles that have expected you to design, define, test or critically review propositions for new products or services. Innovative thinker and understanding of end-to-end innovation and proposition development
  • Strategic thinker able to see the big picture as well as analytical details, connect the dots and identify patterns.
  • Good balance of process & creativity (right & left brain).  Critical thinker with commercial, hands-on experience.
  • You have a passion for customers & insights.  Experienced in design thinking and in structuring and coordinating consumer research and experiments.
  • You understand the importance of great CX and have experience working with researchers, designers and concepts such as persona, customer journey, JTBD.
  • Entrepreneurial and pragmatic.
  • Able to take on challenges and pivot where required to deliver sound, well thought through changes within a complex business and matrix structure
  • Good presentation and influencing skills up to senior management level Confidence to push ideas when required but with a ‘white coat’ data-based approach.  You are an accomplished presenter and can sell your story successfully.

Desirable skills:

 

  • Experience working with strong consumer brands or have worked in agencies or consultancies who have worked with them.
  • An interest in start-ups or emerging tech companies Curious self-starter, who brings the outside in: experienced in horizon scanning, trends and ecosystem analysis.
