About the Role

 

We are looking for a Test Lead with passion, energy, a strong desire to learn and improve and a commitment to driving our product journey forward. You’ll have to make tough decisions, implement best practices and provide compromises when situations are not ideal. The candidate will have experience of working in Agile teams preferably in the Digital domain.
 
The Test Lead will be responsible for ensuring that all releases of the Priority Application (Web/IoS/Android) are fully tested before being released to the o2 customer base and meet the very high standards of  customer usability that are currently in place. You will be a member of O2’s IT Consumer and SMB team. Working under the vision of a product owner and alongside developers, UX, operational experts and our delivery team, you will be responsible for making sure that the features that are delivered by the Engineering team are of the highest possible quality.
 
You will work closely with the development and design teams to create products that are consistent, highly usable, reliable and performant. You will be expected to utilise industry best test practice with a strong focus on test automation
 
We expect you to collaborate within the team as well as push new ideas for the wider business on better ways to do things. We expect you will take pride in any platform that you build and manage

 

Key Responsibilities

 

•    The role involves working closely with other developers and Scrum team members and contributing to team-wide initiatives. Strong written and verbal communication skills are key.
•    Ability to grow influence with wider stakeholders in the team as well as key touch points in the business. Experience of showing initiative to get things done
•    Active member of the agile product team, sprint planning, backlog grooming and task estimation as well as other tasks as part of an agile development team
•    Cross team collaboration to assess system usage trends and identify potential performance constraints, working with other developers to pinpoint issues and come up with solutions
•    Improve continuous software integration and deployment models within a Mobile DevOps environment. Implementing and improving TDD/BDD methodologies and leading our test automation strategy

 

Key Skills/Experience

 

•    Overseeing all work streams (FE, BE and infra) across the team to ensure work is scheduled based on priorities, risks and team strengths 
•    Provide suitable solutions for issues/errors based on the understanding of the system and business processes
•    Coaching and mentoring junior staff, by helping them to make decisions, solve problems, manage meetings and set goals, providing feedback on testing-related tasks, delegates and assigns testing responsibilities
•    Oversees the creation and maintenance of test data and test documentation
•    Oversee implementation and execution of functional, regression, and acceptance tests as well as automation (across all work streams)
•    Assisting with testing and releasing of micro-services, iOS and Android apps, web as well as infra related releases weekly if not daily
•    Define and prioritise short-term and long-term objectives for QA's and make necessary corrections under changing circumstances as well as adhering to the roadmap delivery goals
•    Analyse complex information and manage all variables to achieve optimal solution
•    Automation experience – building framework, managing and maintaining as well as mentoring juniors
•    Ability to motivate other team members and boost productivity
•    Ability to handle expectations in terms of project deliverables
