About the team:

The Supplier Contract Management function is responsible for business contracting and management of commercial relationships with third-party suppliers, ensuring that commercial and contractual risks are identified and allocated appropriately and that Telefónica enters into contracts at acceptable levels of margin and risk.  The Supplier Contract Management Team are also responsible for ensuring the right supplier frameworks are in place. The function underpins Telefónica’s growth targets in ICT, Digital and Mobile markets. It is a dynamic and deadline-driven environment that is both stimulating and rewarding.

 

About the role:

This is an exciting and challenging role that supports Large Enterprises and Public sectors by leading on contract negotiations with our suppliers, managing and mitigating contractual risks and providing any material insights of these to enable our management to make informed decisions ahead of contract signature. The role involves managing a high number of matters in parallel some of which require a committed and tenacious approach to conclude successfully within constrained timescales in support of sales targets.

 

Key responsibilities:

The candidate will draft and negotiate contracts ranging from £50k to upwards of £10m in contract value, engaging directly with clients and third party suppliers and coordinating the necessary commercial, legal and financial resources to deliver successful results.  Responsibilities also include managing diverse groups of internal stakeholders, ensuring that internal governance is upheld and providing advice and recommendations to assist in decision-making processes.

 

Essential skills:

  • Commercial and Contract Management experience
  • Excellent contract drafting skills, negotiating and managing ICT, mobile telecoms and/or managed service contracts in excess of £10m TCV.
  • Experience in managing and negotiating supplier contracts for complex solutions.
  • Professional and confident in manner and possess excellent communication skills, demonstrating the ability to influence and effectively manage clients and internal stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
  • Good understanding of the inter-relationship between the sales, procurement, legal, financial and delivery aspects of commercial propositions.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen - understanding of P&L, balance sheets etc.
  • Demonstrate excellent leadership skills and the ability to direct virtual teams to deliver contracting solutions for high value, complex opportunities.
  • Track record in creating and negotiating risk mitigating strategies into contracts, balancing business and commercial risks with the customer’s requirements, and making sound recommendations and decisions at a senior level within the organisation.
  • Resilient and able to operate in a tough environment, often working flexible hours to achieve deadlines.
  • Possess an excellent time and priority management skills. This will be demonstrated by a proven record of managing multiple complex opportunities at the same time.
  • Advanced Microsoft Word skills.
  • Full driver’s licence.

 

Desirable skills:

  • Experience in contracting for Private and Public Sector clients
  • IACCM Accreditation or legal qualifications
