About the Team:

 

The Performance Media Planning Manager role sits within wider O2 Marcomms team, one of the most sophisticated marketing departments in the UK and is made of the following teams: Strategy and Planning, Performance Marketing, Brand & Creative, and Sponsorship & Events.
We are a fully integrated, well-oiled marketing machine. We have access to unprecedented levels of data and insight which we harness to power a superior customer experience and reach new audiences. There isn’t a channel we don’t actively have a presence in – and we work across all of them.
The Performance Marketing team is a combination of communications and innovation, spanning digital media and CRM, as well as Optimisation and Martech & Adtech. With a wealth of data and technology at our finger tips, we work hard to create valuable interactions with our customers and prospects across many briefs each year.
This role sits more specifically within the Performance Media Management team, which is part of the wider Performance Marketing team. The Performance Media Management team are tasked with driving order volume into the o2.co.uk/shop website (mobile phones, sim cards and tablets across pay monthly contracts and pay as you go options), whilst understanding the impact digital media has on the wider O2 retail and telesales footprint. The main channels we optimise are display, PPC, SEO, affiliates, email and SMS. We work closely with our agency partners (media and creative) to manage a considerable budget to drive effective and efficient communications at scale.
 

Responsibilities:


- The role reports into the Performance Media Management lead and will manage the target setting across the paid and owned channels using numerous key data sources (Flashtalking, attributed and econometrics data).
- The role has exposure to all the key digital channels and is perfect for an analytical minded strategic marketer.
- The role faces into numerous internal and external teams, including the Online trading, Marcomms Strategy and Planning. As well as the Performance Measurement and Campaign & Audience Management teams.
- Owner of the cross channel strategic vision for the Performance Media Management team. It's a truly collaborative role driving synergies between teams, agencies and channels.
 - Movements of budget responsibility across channels and product categories depending on business priority and media performance.
- Help plan budget requirements for upcoming Performance Marketing campaign activity.
- Report on performance vs targets on a regular basic to senior management and key stakeholders.
-The role holder will also explore `value based` analysis, ensuring the optimisation of media is not solely based on order volume, but also the value of those orders delivered. 
- Work hand in hand with the Performance Measurement team to ensure that a process and framework is in place on all activity to optimise the digital component of campaigns in an outcome-driven way, whether that be for volume or value.

 

Skills and experience: 


- Experience of managing sizable media budgets across digital channels.
 - Analytical minded whilst also appreciating the ‘art’ of Performance Marketing.
- Bold and willing to make decisions which might not always be popular but are in the best interests of O2.
- An in-depth understanding of the digital media mix including reporting and measurement tools.
- A confident individuals who is highly collaborative in nature.
- Must have a 'can do’ attitude.
