What do the team do?

This role sits in the HR Team where we are passionate about giving our people opportunities to perform at their best. There are around 6,700 employees within Telefónica UK and we believe that in HR we are privileged to have jobs that allow us to create personalised and meaningful experiences to all of those people.

The People Change Team (part of HR Service Delivery) provides professional people change expertise to business stakeholders, enabling the scoping, planning, delivery and review of people related change programmes into the business.

How will you fit into this?

As a People Change and Projects Consultant you’ll be part of the People Change team, acting as a trusted advisor to the business.  You will work alongside the business, HR Business Partners and other stakeholders to drive and manage projects within HR.  You’ll need to understand business goals, identify people impacts and specialist HR skills required and draw in expertise from across HR including L&D, Reward & Benefits, Resourcing, Employee Relations, Legal Counsel, etc.

Projects will range from scoping, planning and delivery of complex people change programmes – such as restructures, redundancies, TUPE transfers, relocations, shift changes, etc – as well as more generalist HR projects.  We’re a flexible team, used to matrix working to support teams across HR as needed.

Some of the more specific responsibilities:

  • End to end project management, from scoping and planning to delivery and review, of new and ongoing people programmes and initiatives across the organisation
  • Effectively manage the delivery of specific people change programmes in a way which delivers the best possible experience for our people, while aligning to wider HR priorities
  • Work as change advisor to HR Business Partners, providing change expertise and using business insight to inform our approaches
  • Work in collaboration with the wider People Change team to contribute to a single People Change Roadmap of activity
  • Work with business leaders, line managers and HRBPs to review HR and change practices to drive updates and improvements to UK policy, process and toolkits
  • Improve the employee experience of change through engagement activities, manager training, communications, support and education for HR colleagues
  • Take the lead on change programme related collective consultation with trade union and employee representatives, drawing in expertise from Employee Relations and Legal experts when required

What we need from you:

  • You’ll need to be a great project manager – someone who can work out what needs to be done, organise yourself and others and take accountability for the successful scoping, planning and delivery of projects and programmes
  • You’ll need to be flexible – this role sits in the People Change team, but we are used to working on projects across HR too (which is great for our development)
  • You’re comfortable working with ambiguity and are able to adapt and adjust when plans change
  • You must be able to quickly build strong, credible relationships with business and HR stakeholders and be able to coach stakeholders through our approaches and interventions
  • Demonstrable ability in using and analysing data to drive and inform decision making on people related change and projects
  • You must be commercially savvy and have the ability to quickly understand business drivers and priorities and be able to influence stakeholders in the approach for people change and delivery
  • With solid IT skills, including Microsoft Office you will have a commitment to identifying and implementing digital and interactive solutions to service delivery

  • Experience of scoping, planning and managing the delivery of people change projects and programmes (e.g. redundancy, restructure, TUPE, volume shift changes, organisation design, etc)
  • Experience of organisation design
  • Have good knowledge of employment law and application in a people change context (e.g. TUPE, Redundancy, Terms and Conditions changes etc)
  • Experience of Trade Union collective consultation
