About the role

Reporting to B2B Software Development Manager the Senior Developer will be responsible for building and configuring applications to meet business process and application requirements of VMO2 B2B platforms. Collaborating closely with product owners, designers and architects to clarify requirements and provide feedback on design and direction of new software products and features.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce clean, efficient code based on specifications.

  • Integrate software components and third-party programs.

  • Ensure that platform development is implemented in a secure, coherent, and consistent manner and that planned platform developments are compatible with the organisation’s existing platforms, infrastructure, and transformation goals. 

  • Help the development team for estimation, clarifying requirements, contribution to design & direction of products and release planning.  Represent the development team at all Agile ceremonies.

  • Be first point of contact within the development team for any defects found, ensuring swift resolution including out-of hours incident and deployment support. Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing software.

  • Ensure that all work follows approved methods and standards and conforms to agreed quality, is maintained under version control and configuration management, including conducting code review, automated unit & integration testing and technical documentation

  • Work on improvements in development approach and toolset including static code analysis tools, continuous delivery pipeline, testing frameworks and infrastructure scripts. Lead the development of methods and standards.

  • Own risks and resolve issues associated with technical debt, application life cycle, security and compliance.

 

What We Need from You:

Essential Skills:

  • Demonstrable experience in the design, development and debugging of large-scale multi-user applications in microservices architecture and Headless CMS systems.

  • Recognised expertise in the technical specialism, the technology involved, current developments, the most commonly available products, and the application of the specialism within a technical or business environment

  • Proven experience in applying and extending best practice techniques such as OO, design patterns and principles

  • Proven experience in ReactJS and its Eco-system.

  • Proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels to ensure mutual and shared understanding, including ability to translate complex technical issues into business language and to manage stakeholder expectations

  • Experience in delivering complex technology transformation programmes using SDLC methods such as Waterfall, SAFe/Agile, XP etc. 

  • Expertise with application lifecycle management CI/CD DevOps tools. Eg Jira, Git, Gitlab, Jenkins.

  • Experience of implementing solutions in cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), including using Kubernetes

  • Proven ability to work and operate in a diverse and inclusive environment. Displays high levels of self-awareness and emotional intelligence in all situations 

  • Expertise in Laravel, Lumen or other PHP application development frameworks, and/or with Java and/or python
