About the team?

The Integration delivery team design and develop the Applications which expose and manage access to all APIs exposed to our customers and other applications (internal and external). These are critical applications managed to the highest service levels, as any issues can have a major customer impact in terms of their ability to access our products and services


Key applications supported include:

  • Customer Identity and Access Management
  • API Management tool
  • API Gateway



About the role?

As the Identity Technical Product Owner (TPO) you’ll be the owner of all technical aspect of the Customer Identity and Access Management product’s delivery including architecture, solution design, service design, technical assurance and governance. You’ll be working alongside the Product Owner to ensure all technical requirements for a great quality product are included on the product roadmap.


You’ll be empowered to make tough decisions, implement best practices and provide compromises when situations are not ideal.


The TPO will be expected to use Lean-Agile ways of maintaining and defining architecture and design (such as Evolutionary Architecture) and provide thought leadership around technical aspects of their product.


The key objectives of a TPO are:

1.             Deliver working solutions using agile principles

2.             Maximise stakeholder value

3.            Enable the delivery of next Iteration/MVP

4.             Provide technical governance and leadership

5.             Active participation in the TPO Chapter activities



Key Responsibilities:

  • Product ownership -  Oversee and have accountability for the solution architecture, design and technical governance of assigned product(s) and projects.  Work with customers, stakeholders, and suppliers to establish high-level solution intent, and the solution intent information models and documentation requirements
  • Architecture & Design - Evolve architecture as per agile practices to enable better value for money, scalability, robustness and alignment to product KPIs. Provide direction and decide on architecture and design dispensations received
  • Technical Governance - Create and maintain a knowledge repository for the product covering architecture, design, service, support documentation. Accountable for sign-off/acceptance of technical artefacts related to the product/project
  • Innovation & Evangelism - Provide software development and software technology leadership for the product. Constantly aware of new technologies and how they can bring value to the business



What we need from you:

  • Experience in development and implementation of Identity and Access Management products
  • Strong understanding of OpenID Connect Specification / framework
  • Demonstrates Architecture and Design Leadership.
  • Experienced in Agile and Lean delivery methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, DevOps, Continuous Delivery etc.
  • Strong technical background whilst understanding the business value that technologies bring to a business
  • Experience with Web and Mobile technologies and architecture patterns such as Microservices architecture, Serverless and Cloud computing, RESTful APIs etc.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, negotiation and relationship-building skills; ability to build consensus within and across a diverse organization
  • Works effectively in a group or individually with Technical and Non-Technical team members and customers
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to take a leadership role when necessary
  • Detail-oriented individual with the ability to quickly adapt and apply new concepts, business models, and technologies.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, used to dealing with senior managers
  • Is able to exercise independent judgment, and take the lead role on enterprise level projects/products with minimal directions
