12 Month Fixed Term Contract

 

Location: Slough, Leeds or Preston Brook

 

About the Team:

 

The team is relatively new within the operations organisation and was previously made up between Networks/IT and consists of approximately 20 – 30 heads. Focussing on supplier/contract management aspects of our key operational contracts in order to drive performance from our suppliers and hold them to account if they don’t achieve SLA’s and obligations.  The team are responsible for Performance (managing, monitoring and reporting on IT performance for the Operations Lead team), Governance (Supplier, Asset, and Inventory)

 

Your Role:

 

Reporting to the Head of Tower,   This role is responsible for Managing, Monitoring and communicating performance against our contracts. They will be able to ensure that we are driving value for money against our spend with Suppliers and accountable for the Vendor relationships across Operations

Calculating the commercial performance of the supplier contracts that oversee operational activities. This individual is primarily accountable for analysing and reporting the in-life performance of specific contracts and to ensure the cost-effectiveness and value for money of these contracts.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

Performance/Commercial Management and Reporting

  • Lead Supplier Performance, commercial management and Reporting activities across the Partner
  • SSM should oversee the collation and analysis of management information across multiple sources with the production of regular and ad-hoc reporting as required to support business needs
  • Drive commercial awareness into O2 business in regards to the Partner, including but not limited to; capturing, monitoring and managing core commercial information, Invoice, Invoice Age, Credit, Disputes, Spend, strategic commercial positions, benchmarking etc
  • The SSM will ensure that Partnerships have robust KPI/SLAs and monitor value for money through effective financial and management controls, and driving behaviour/culture of value add
  • This role holder will ensure that Management frameworks and Reporting are in existence for Partners

 

Contract and Risk Management

  • The definition of procurement and supplier management strategies should include the policies and processes for the selection of vendors, tendering, procurement and management of suppliers
  • Execute contract management tools and processes to ensure compliance against contractual obligations, and ensuring contracted value is realised, and future value is cultivated, tracked and reported. The SSM should ensure that there is maintenance and monitoring of a contract database whether undertaken by themselves or others.
  • Establish and maintain a risk register for Partner (Supplier). Assess likelihood and impact of risk as a key element of any engagement. Risk should include, but not be limited too; Financial, operational, Compliance, brand, and commercial risk

 

Change and Capacity Management

  • Manage the demand from the business into the Partner ensuring correct demand forecast, partner capacity management and prioritisation of activities
  • SSM should ensure effective monitoring, tracking and reporting of capacity and demand while providing a commercial review to approve or reject impact assessments

 

 

Skills & experience:

 

  • Extensive experience in a Partner / Supplier Management environment which may have been gained in a Vendor managing customer accounts and relationships
  • Experience of working in partnership rather than supplier / vendor relationships, how to enable this and drive real value from this relationship
  • Strong relationship and interpersonal skills to be applied in working with vendors across the entire contract lifecycle and internal stakeholder management
  • Understanding of best practices and the methodologies and processes used to manage Vendors & Partners
  • Understanding of Partner / Supplier motivations, internal structures, strategic plans and market challenges as well as political and power issues prevalent across vendors
  • Knowledge of market trends in contract and pricing models, service delivery and performance management, and innovations
  • Significant experience in sourcing projects and processes and managing multi-vendor contracts
  • Strong experience of commercial management of a Supplier
  • Strong dispute resolution and mediation skills to handle issue escalation and to drive win-win outcomes
  • Must be able to manage the expectations of our stakeholders (including TUK internal groups and external suppliers) and have the ability to build relationships across the business and gain respect and credibility
  • Strong communications skills are an essential part of this role along with the gravitas and credibility to operate and communicate with senior level personnel both internal and external to TUK
