About the team

  • We are responsible for delivering change on both legacy technologies, such as ecommerce and myO2 as well as looking forward and becoming the single delivery vehicle for all changes on to the new strategic billing stack.
  • The NetCracker BSS is where the majority of the work is focused in 2022 and over 2022 – 2024 legacy consumer will be phased out as part of alignment to the 360 Accelerate transformation program.
  • The team that you will lead, will focus seeing a step change in ways of working and enablement for the delivery managers to build upon.

 

About the role

  • You will work alongside the Technical Product Owners (who design changes) and Delivery Managers (who complete configuration and capability changes).
  • Focus on looking forward through strategic thinking, while ensuring that the end-to-end team have all the tools, processes, and ways of working (WoW) to the plans set out by the demand owners. Additionally, you will manage the supplier relationships, track the finances and measure the deliveries and maturity of the team.
  • You will have 3 managed service individuals reporting into you (continuous improvement, environment / DevOps and a finance owner). You will also matrix manage the two key suppliers NetCracker and NTT who are augmenting the wider delivery function.

 

Key responsibilities

Responsible for application delivery Strategy:

 

  • Dual Run/ Accelerate Co-existence Strategy
  • Team structure
  • Testing strategy
  • Environments/ Tooling strategy
  • Agile Adoption to industry standards across IT and external partners
  • Responsible for defining the application delivery Governance and running it on a regular cadence

 

Finances:

  • Lead application delivery Allocation, track spent and manage forecast of spend
  • Lead spent outside application delivery Allocation and charge to respective projects
  • Lead the application delivery Cost model
  • Input application delivery Costs into the yearly planning (CAPEX and OPEX)

 

Resource Management:

  • Track capacity of internal (VirginMediaO2) and external (NetCracker / NTT Data) resource against demand and drive ramp up/down decisions
  • Reporting & KPIs:
  • Accountable for weekly reporting, Steer Co reporting and reporting to Accelerate
  • Supervise delivery and Agile KPIs and adopt strategy to improve as needed
  • Lead Continuous Improvement items to support:
  • key technical gaps resolution
  • delivery efficiencies
  • devops/automation/ pipeline management
  • simplified WoW

 

WoW/Processes:

  • Be responsible for the application delivery processes and WoW within the team and with the external teams
  • Review and optimise processes ensure they are documented and understood, RACIs defined
  • Delivery Enablers such as tools/environments to support the team

 

Key skills / experience / behaviours

  • Strong Agile / Lean background including agile maturing.
  • Previous experience of influencing Agile adoption both IT and non-IT owners.
  • Solid understanding of finance management including supplier time keeping.
  • Experience in using Jira and Confluence for demand management
  • Strategic thinking and thought leadership
  • Good supplier management
