Wayra is the Open Innovation initiative from Vivo / Telefónica. Our aim is to invest in the best startups and leverage their growth offering innovative solutions to Vivo and it´s customers. We have a portfolio of +400 invested companies in Brazil, Hispam and Europe.
Mission
The Principal of Portfolio and Scouting will be responsible for the planing and execution of Wayra´s investment and portfolio management strategy in Brazil.
Main duties & responsibilities
Responsible for the scouting and investment process:

Manage the investment process end to end: Discovery of investment opportunities; Sourcing; Screening; Evaluation; Negotiation and Disbursing

Negotiation of the investment terms with all the stakeholders (Startup; New investors; Shareholders; etc)

Building and presentation of the Business Case to the Investment Committee

Coordination of the Due Diligence together with our internal and external advisors

Strategic analysis of trends, benchmarks and mapping of relevant startups and investors in the Brazilian ecosystem
Responsible for the portfolio management and divestments:

Detection, Analysis and Management of potential Follow Ons, secondaries and exit opportunities.

Negotiation of terms to protect Wayra rights in the different investment stages

Support our portfolio startups in the fundraising process, while connecting them with top tier funds in Brazil and globally

Track our portfolio startups performance, to keep our risk model updated and ready to be shared with our accountants

Attend to board meetings and support our portfolio companies in their strategic decision-making process

Proactively interact with other VC firms and any other relevant stakeholder in the Brazilian VC ecosystem.

Enhance Wayra´s positioning as thought leaders in Brazil and the region. Represent Wayra Brazil in the Media and events, together with the Country Manager
Candidate requirements
Education required:
-
Engeneering; Business or Economics Degree
-
MBA will be valued (not mandatory)
Specific skills

Excellent soft skills and ability to generate trust and long-term relationships with people.

Excellent Negotiation skills.

Strong Leadership

Proactivity and autonomy is a must
Technical knowledge

Finance modeling, Financial analysis and building Business Cases

Deep understanding of the industry investment dynamics, its vehicles and instruments

Basic understanding of Accounting principles
Professional experience
-
At least 3 years of experience in VC or PE
-
Deep knowledge and understanding of the Brazilian VC ecosystem and its stakeholders
Languages

Fluency in Portuguese, English & Spanish
