A new business sales focused role within Medium Business Sales Team, this role will primarily be desk-based, though limited occasional travel to visit your customers may also be required. Your role will be to proactively generate sales opportunities to new logo prospect accounts, and to convert these opportunities to sales across the full portfolio of VirginMediaO2 products.

You will be required to build a strong and balanced pipeline of new customer opportunities, with a focus on driving customer value to maximise revenue streams through selling the complete VMO2 portfolio. These include, but not restricted to Mobile, DIA, Microsoft O365, hardware and various other connectivity and digital solutions, fully understanding your prospects needs and their plans for growth or business transformation, to offer them the best solution to suit their requirements.

The must haves

In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;


  • B2B sales experience in an environment that requires delivery of multiple sales deliverables
  • Experience of "solution selling" or sophisticated sales
  • Experience engaging with C Suite decision makers
  • An understanding of the competitive landscape for VMO2
  • Strong communication skills – orally and written
  • Driven and self-motivated with desire to be the best
  • Able to keep up to date with changes in products, services and competencies through self-learning and self-development – a curious learner who takes personal responsibility for their development in product & service knowledge as well as their own skills

The other stuff we're looking for

We'd also love you to be able to;

  • Develop sales insights into a defined portfolio of target prospect accounts through proactive prospecting activity and customer insight gathering. Relevant customer information should be gained for the generation of new opportunities within your target accounts.
  • Deliver results - this includes target achievement, developing and implementing action plans for delivering results, balanced pipeline growth and management, forecasting, logging/recording of customer interactions on salesforce/CRM, understanding and plans for correcting or enhancing your personal performance statistics
  • Self-sufficiently sell the full VirginMediaO2 products portfolio into your customer account base, with a clear growth strategy for each customer. This should be done both independently and with support from the Specialist Pre-Sales Team for the more sophisticated sales when required but with a consistent curiosity to develop your own skills across our complete portfolio
  • A fully proactive contact strategy across all prospects within your identified target base to ensure you understand their key 12/24-month strategies to position yourself a Trusted Advisor for their telecommunications and digital requirements. Achievement of all activity – outbound calls, account coverage etc as laid out within the important metric requirements for the role
  • In addition to creating self generated pipeline, you should have the ability to rapidly engage Marketing generated leads, converting these to qualified sales opportunities through; quickly building customer rapport to facilitate a consultative, solution led sales conversation.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate and detailed customer contacts, activity, pipeline, and opportunity information within the Salesforce CRM. Facilitate timely handovers of newly won customer accounts to ensure a smooth transition from New Business Sales to in our Account Management team.
