About the role

The security operations engineering manager role is an important position within the team and provides an essential part of the customer support, fault investigating, integration testing and project delivery function providing excellent levels of co-ordination and guardianship of the Lawful Intercept systems and interfaces. A key part of this role is ensuring we maintain and underwrite the KPI’s & SLAs required to deliver our obligation to law enforcement and external agencies for Lawful Interception across our core network and IMS core.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and co-ordinating the activities of the Security Engineering Support team (VM &O2 engineers)
  • Actively leading the coordination of verification testing for Lawful Intercept for Voice, Packet, IMS services, and new telecommunications technology.
  • Working independently and leading the planning of Lawful Interception test activities with Integration and test teams and vendors.
  • Finding solution to complex technical faults within the core network and supporting LI systems.
  • Solving complex Lawful Interception issues working closely with Core Network design and support teams, and vendors.
  • Technical Service Manager role for the LI platforms owning the relationship with a vendor.
  • Arranging 24x7 on-call and hands-on support, as part of a rota.
  • Contributing to the development of the LI function and strategy within VMO2 by actively identifying security enhancements and addressing queries related to new products and technology.
  • Building positive relationships with Voice, cable network, packet and IMS core Integration and test groups.

 

What We Need from You:

Essential Skills:

  • Wide experience of the lawful interception on mobile networks and other access technologies.
  • Previous managerial experience
  • High level knowledge of GSM and UMTS voice core call scenarios and signalling.
  • High level knowledge of GPRS, UMTS and LTE packet core sessions and signalling.
  • Knowledge of IMS VoLTE call scenarios and signalling.
  • Knowledge of Linux system administration.
  • Ideally having previous UK Government clearance to SC or above.
