Technical Product Manager #OpenGate - TALENT HUNTERS

Telefonica CTO is seeking talented engineers to join the OpenGate engineering team.

OpenGate is a new Telefónica initiative that seeks to open our telco network capabilities as a service to any application developer. Developers must be able to create apps that interact with the network and other telco capabilities in a programmatic way, using standard APIs (e.g. control network quality on demand, charge payments to the phone carrier bill, authenticate users, etc). Those APIs will be exposed in Telefónica Kernel, the Telefónica data platform that is at the core of our digital services.

Mission

Our mission in to help developers create better products and services using telco capabilities.

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Become proficient in the current products' functions, benefits, and capabilities, and discuss new requirements with various stakeholders

• Work closely with the development team to define and prioritize product features and requirements, ensuring that they are understood and implemented correctly

• Act as the technical expert and advocate for the product, keeping up-to-date on industry trends, competitors' products, and customer needs

• Lead the development team through the product development process, including gathering and analyzing feedback, identifying and prioritizing technical issues, and defining and tracking development milestones

• Analyze and report on key performance indicators, such as product usage and customer satisfaction, to inform product strategy

• Translate the product's strategy into detailed requirements and outline the product vision, strategy, and roadmap

• Ensure that user story content and prioritization align with the larger strategic objectives

Experience

• Strong technical background, with at least 5 years of experience in software development and 2 years of experience in technical product management

• Experience with agile development methodologies, including managing successful projects from feature definition to project deployment

• Experience with product roadmap development and prioritization. Ability to set priorities and resolve issues.

• Experience with project management tools, such as JIRA.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for a non-technical audience and to communicate technical solutions to both internal and external audiences.

• Leadership in order to effectively motivate and guide team members towards the achievement of common goals. This includes the ability to delegate tasks, provide direction and guidance, and build and maintain strong relationships with team members.

• Empathy for understanding context, gathering requirements, and self-confidence to discard those that are not aligned with strategic objectives

• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
