The Telefonica Global Solutions Presales team is a Global Team with members in 13 countries throughout Americas, Europe and Asia working to design ICT solutions for Telefonica Multinational customers across the world with focus on selling the infrastructure and services we have in Europe and the Americas. We are a group of technical consultants that are driven by finding the best technology and solutions for our customers.

 

Your Role - Mission

The MNCs presales engineer has a senior presales consultant position focused on French Headquarters.

 

The Presales Engineer has an essential role in the value creation for our customers. We know our customers, and we design glove fit solutions to effectively guide them through their demanding business challenges.

 

Whenever a customer needs a large or complex solution, the GSE will be the person responsible for the design of an architecture and service based on Telefonica’s capabilities, considering the customer’s needs, budget and deadlines. The Presales Engineer will play an essential role in the bidding team contributing with his leadership and technical authority on behalf of the customer, and leading internal discussion with all stakeholders, getting their inputs and ensuring the satisfactory fulfilment of approval toll gates in the internal process in order to validate the solution to be proposed to the customer.

 

Main Dutties & Responsibilities

  • Establish technical credibility with our MNC customers and lead consultative selling meetings and workshops with them to identify new leads and opportunities. Build relationship with key customer contacts and become a trusted advisor to our customers
  • Participate in the definition of the strategy and vision with the customer, influencing his decisions based on our technical knowledge and analysis
  • Be able to work on the sales strategy definition with technical advice to jointly define the commercial strategy and (building Technical Account Plans for key customers)
  • Support the Account Manager in the presales phase for a preliminary RFP overview and qualification
  • Lead the delivery of strategic cross border and complex opportunities
  • Be responsible for global solution design, aligning available technology with the client's needs
  • Identify the architecture and service design involved in complex technical and functional proposals for our customers
  • Coordinate the technical teams (experts), our local teams (local service engineers) and factories in order to lead the final solution
  • Work with vendors and service partners necessary to build our proposals
  • Be responsible for the technical (high level design) and economic viability (business case, PnL and margins definition, to be validated with our Finance team) of the offer preparation phase, and, once awarded, for the precise handover to the Postsales teams required
  • Present and explain the technical aspects of a designed solution. Be a key member of the Bid team, responsible for all technical aspects of the bid or proposal. Make in-depth, high-level technology and product presentations to the customer
  • Take initiative to learn in-depth the technologies, solutions, and products-internals
  • Maintain a high level of understanding of existing products and services as well as planned enhancement through formal and informal training

 

Key Skills, Experience and Competencies Required

  • 5 years of proven track record at delivering complex technical solutions for B2B MNC’s customers in an international environment, with good knowledge of the telecoms and IT markets.
  • Presales experience focused on french customers is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Professional and confident in manner, and possessing excellent communication skills, demonstrating the ability to deal effectively with customers, peers, management and the wider business at all levels of seniority.
  • Strong experience in technical presales and professional services organizations
  • Solid understanding of telecommunication needs for MNCs in both traditional and digital telecommunication services.
  • Technical background and managed services from the design and technical support perspectives, mainly in Connectvity and SD-WAN. Other technonlogies are desirable as CyberSecurity, Cloud, IoT, Big Data,ToIP and UC solutions,
  • Demonstrate the ability to balance business and commercial risks with the requirements of our customer’s and Telefonica’s desire to win new business.
  • Proven experience dealing with key stakeholders in proposal development (pe. third party service providers, integrators etc…)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Innovative in both commercial and solution development approach
  • Strong business and objective orientation
  • Willingness to travel internationally and develop in a multicultural environment
  • Resilient and able to operate in a tough environment, often working flexible hours to achieve deadlines.
  • Possess excellent time and priority management skills.
  • Presentation skills – A confident and professional approach to building presentations and delivering to an audience.
  • A desire to find solutions to problems and meet all customers’ requirements whilst understanding the commitment to deliver all that is confirmed in a bid response.

 

Nature of Problems

  • Work in an international environment with customers (Internal and External) in  France, Spain, LATAM, EMEA and APAC.
  • Liaise with Sales, Operations, Legal and Finance representatives in Telefonica.
  • Design complex solutions both, in technical and financial terms.
  • Document and present solutions to international customers.

 

Desired Qualifications

Computer Science, Telecommunications or similar

 

Languages

Mandatory: Spanish and English

Desirable: French
