Area Description

The Commercial Acceleration team for MNCs is responsible for accelerating the sales of all Telefónica Products to the Top 160 MNC accounts in the group. We are a cross organizational unit reporting into the Global Director of Multinationals and that provides support to all the different MNCs Sales Units around the group. Our responsibilities are to help our customers to accelerate their digital transformational projects, developing the relationship with partners (technological and consultative), launching different commercial campaigns and providing support to all the transformational deals of the MNC unit. To do this, we are organized based on expertise in different technologies and regions, we have defined a consultative sales methodology and a digital plan levering on our main partners and internal units. We are continuously challenging the group to incorporate new solutions and partners, and we are fostering knowledge within the unit sharing our best success cases and technologies.



As Business Development Manager for IoT and Big Data services you will be responsible of accelerating the sales of this services in our perimeter of accounts, providing support to all the Sales Managers and Global Account Managers to accelerate business. Additionally, as a member of the team, you will be responsible to identify new opportunities, develop new pitches or lead commercial campaigns globally with specific partners. You will develop strong relationships with MNCs customers and partners and with internal resources including Sales, Presales, Product Marketing, Legal and Service Management in order to achieve your goals. You’ll be brought on board to penetrate a strategic account, develop business and establish personal presence at the executive level in the customer organization assigned to you. IoT, private networks, 5G, Industry 4.0 and Big Data services will be at the core of your activities, so having a good understanding of all Telefónica portfolio in these areas and how they can help our customers to provide better experiences, improve efficiencies or generate new business is key. Consultative sales and working with partners will be in the center of your daily activity. 


Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Ability to penetrate an account and establish personal presence at a CxO Level at global companies
• Ability to drive opportunities – “Take the lead and drive the customer” - on thecnologies such as IoT, private networks, 5G and Big Data
• Uncover customer opportunities and build a plan to convince them to “win” with our brand
• Guide the customer and support its digital transformational projects
• Generate proposals with a customer focus and showing expertise on customers’ industries
• Excellent customer communication and interpersonal skills
• Aggressive pursuit of new opportunities and develop new markets or accounts
• Ability to define a business plan, track its execution and define corrective actions if needed 
• Achieves assigned sales quota in designated accounts or regions
• Proper planning to achieve the business objectives
• Ability to coordinate and bring together all the right Telefonica parties to propose innovative solutions such as Sales Specialists, Presales and Product teams
• Being able to transform necessities in opportunities
• Transmitting the customer’s needs inside the organization
• Verify the viability of the customer’s needs
• Lead and work with a virtual team across the globe
• Host events, participate as a speaker in global meetings and being a reference in the group in digital transformational approach and knowledge 


Education Required

• Enginering MSc (Telecommunications or Electronics preferred)
• MBA, Master in Digital Transformation or IoT technologies


Specific Skills

• Consultative Selling
• Ability to generate innovative pitches using all Telefonica capabilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication, self- confidence and effective interpersonal skills
• Experience with multinational markets


Technical Knowledge

• Deep knowledge of digital services such as IoT, private networks, 5G and Big Data


Professional Experience

• 10+ years of business development or sales experience in digital services and IT sector
• Proven experience managing "Fortune 500" Global Accounts worldwide



• Multi-lingual Fluent in English and Spanish
• Portuguese, French or German is an important plus
