Junior Consultant Linux and Virtualization

Area Description

Resource management, within the DIG&CEX Digitalization and Customer Experience Directorate, is responsible for the life cycle of the TGS IT infrastructure, Clouds, Security, Data Management, Operation, Service Desk and Workplace.

The infrastructure is mostly virtualized on Telefónica's public cloud (VDC, on vmware), AWS (Datalake) and Oracle OCI, having responsibility for technological design decisions, migrations, installations, financial control and support. of the use cases of the different systems and workplace infrastructures.

It also manages Security, Networking assets, operating systems, databases and security-related systems. "FinOps activity is part of the scope of the area."

Mission

We are looking for a junior consultant with knowledge in Linux and virtualization with the responsibility of assisting in virtualized system infrastructure change projects by managing support contracts and external Services, as well as servicing current and future applications that rely on IT infrastructure to meet their business objectives, collaborating in implementations and coordinating the operation of the virtualization layer, databases, middleware and backups.

Your main activities and responsibilities will be:

• Assist in the operation and management of the virtualization layer (VMware, Oracle OCI), DataCenter (IaaS, PaaS)

• Support for automate and continuous improvement of the operation of infrastructure related to Linux/UNIX operating systems as well as the virtualization layer.

• Support for the architecture of new solutions, virtualized services.

• Support for the Lifecycle Control of products and services under your responsibility.

• Support in implementation of end-to-end projects.

• In the near future: containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

Academic

Technical training is recommended (IT, Telecommunications Engineer or similar)

Specific skills required

• Programming skills to automate and create Infrastructure as Code

• Knowledge of Containers and Kubernetes

• Knowledge of storage solutions and technologies

• Personal management skills to interact with the different groups (both management and the entire company) with whom you will collaborate on a daily basis.

• Experience in Agile methodologies and tools for managing activities and tasks (Jira) is desirable.

• Knowledge of storage technologies (SAN, NAS, NFS) is valued.

Technical knowledge

• Linux (Red Hat and Oracle, others is a plus)

• Virtualization with Oracle OCI

• Virtualization with VMware

• Kubernetes and container technology

• Networking fundamentals (desired)

• LDAP or syslog fundamentals (desired)

• Scripting (Bash, Python, Perl, etc.)

• Experience with automation tools like Ansible or Jenkins.

• ITIL v4®

Professional experience

Professional experience in one of these technologies is desirable, as is the ability and willingness to learn in unfamiliar ones.

Languages

Spanish, mother tongue level.

Knowing English and having a certain fluency in both reading and communicating is part of the position.
