Area Description
"Resource management, within the DIG&CEX Digitalization and Customer Experience Directorate, is responsible for the life cycle of the TGS IT infrastructure, Clouds, Security, Data Management, Operation, Service Desk and Workplace.
The infrastructure is mostly virtualized on Telefónica's public cloud (VDC, on vmware), AWS (Datalake) and Oracle OCI, having responsibility for technological design decisions, migrations, installations, financial control and support. of the use cases of the different systems and workplace infrastructures.
It also manages Security, Networking assets, operating systems, databases and security-related systems. "FinOps activity is part of the scope of the area."
Mission
Ensure the availability, security, evolution and continuous improvement of the platforms that serve TGS's IT systems, consisting of more than 600 virtual servers (Linux and Windows), nearly 80 applications and 150 communications elements distributed across four datacenters mainly in Madrid (TEF VDC and Oracle OCI), with dedicated applications in AWS, and presence in Peru. Manage IT infrastructure change projects by leading an internal team and external support and Services contracts. Provide service to applications that use the IT infrastructure to meet their business objectives.
Main activities and duties
- Manage an internal team and relationships with suppliers to make the IT infrastructure lifecycle a reality
- Ensure and guarantee the availability of IT platforms and services in CPD and in the cloud (Oracle OCI, AWS and Azure)
- Change management mainly of infrastructure in OSS/BSS/ESS/ISS
- Continuous evolution and improvement of Cloud and Infrastructure platforms
- Evolution and monitoring of IT Security projects
- Management of Demand/Capacity of Infrastructures
- Receipt of demand for OSS/BSS/ESS/ISS service implementations. Liaison with Operations teams for version uploads, production launches, upgrades, etc.
- Budget management for the Infra and Cloud area
- Monitoring and controlling KPIs related to Cloud Infrastructures and platforms
- Generating RFPs for the acquisition or renewal of products or services, and maintenance
- Relationship with technology and service providers including supervise the service levels provided by suppliers
- Managing the KPIs reflected in the periodic monitoring reports.
- Advising TGS's internal IT needs that are supported by IT infrastructure
- Staying up to date with the evolution of the IT industry, Cloudification, SaaS and agile practices
- Participating in security audits or certifications of regulations with an impact on the IT infrastructure layer
- Having and applying the vision of IT governance based on processes (ITIL), service support, incidents, changes, problems and configuration
- Leading the resolution of complex incidents and the implementation of solutions to them.
- Manage the documentation of the area, including the technical and regulatory procedures to be operated.
- Continuous automation and optimization of the activity
- Adapt the processes related to the area to current regulatory standards, as well as the certifications already implemented through the audit cycle.
- Detect the training needs of the team and provide the necessary technical training.
- Lead the professional development plan for team members.
Required skills and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
- Languages: Spanish and English
- +10 years of professional experience and at least 3 years in a similar role
- ITIL certified v4.
- IT Security Knowledge (Iso27001)
- Knowledge of base software and middleware (Linux, Windows, Oracle WL, AWS Services, Checkpoint, vmWare, Azure, etc.)
- Database knowledge (Oracle, SQL Server, Postgree…)
- Advanced knowledge of public clouds, especially Oracle OCI and AWS. Certification is a plus.
