Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail oriented and analytical ESG short and long term Planning Specialist to join Planning and Control team, focusing on the collected, analysis, monitoring, and reporting of projected financial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) across various business units and geographical regions, ensuring alignment with Telefónica’s corporate sustainability goals and regulatory standards.
This role focuses on integrating financial ESG metrics into the whole financial and operational control frameworks, ensuring that action plan resources are effectively allocated, tracked, and reported.
The ESG Planning Expert will collaborate closely with Strategy, Sustainability, Accounting and Finance areas, corporate and operational business teams to ensure the financial ESG data supports are considered in the strategic plan according to regulatory compliance.
This role must have a complete integration with the ESG Control team, to support them in the consolidation of projected financial ESG resources and CSRD KPIs included in Action Plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Control & Analysis:
- Integrate projected financial ESG KPIs into the overall strategic planning framework, ensuring alignment with Telefónica’s CSRD requirements.
- Data Collection & Management:
- Coordinate the collection of financial ESG action plan data across departments (local & global), ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with CSRD and other relevant frameworks.
- Develop and maintain robust databases for tracking and managing ESG-related financial and operational action plan data.
- Ensure that data collection processes are streamlined and integrated into existing financial and operational Strategic Plan reporting structures.
- Reporting & Monitoring:
- Ensure that all financial ESG reporting data meets internal standards and external regulatory requirements, particularly in relation to the action plan included in the CSRD.
- Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with CSRD and other relevant regulations, identifying and mitigating risks related to ESG reporting.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to support ESG-related audits and reviews.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with Strategic, Sustainability, Accounting & finance corporate areas, and operational teams to ensure financial ESG data is accurately captured and aligned with corporate objectives.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
- Professional certifications or coursework in ESG reporting or sustainability are a plus.
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in financial control, planning, or auditing, ideally within a large corporate environment.
- Familiarity with ESG reporting, sustainability metrics, or non-financial reporting, particularly within a regulatory context are a plus.
- Skills:
- High-level fluency in English and Spanish is required.
- Advanced proficiency in financial analysis tools and software (e.g. Excel, SAP, Power BI).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial and non-financial data.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to senior management.
- Strong project management skills, with focus on process improvement and efficiency.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments in a fast-paced environment.
