 The Digital Integration Architect position will be part of the Mass Market & Digital Architecture team within the Global IT area of the Chief Technology Office of Telefónica based in Madrid. The team is formed by IT and Telecommunication engineers leading the definition of the architecture guidelines and supporting the transformation programs at Telefónica Group level for network and IT virtualization and cloudification. 



 The objectives of the position offered are:

  • Participate in the architecture definition and implementation of Network as a Service program.
  • Identification of business requirements related to digital integration, authentication and cloudification to improve architecture propositions.
  • Design of well-structured Network as a Service APIs, working together with the network teams.
  • Participate in the completion of use cases definition and implementation. Design, build, and test APIs and microservices.
  • APIs testing and certification.
  • Market evaluation and testing of products and vendors applicable to digitalization and integration.
  • Support Telefónica Operations worldwide in their network and IT infrastructure transformation.
  • Participation in international committees and standard organizations representing Telefónica regarding Network as a Service APIs.



MsC in Computer Science, Telecommunication, Network or any related fields.



  • Ability to work in a multinational and multicultural environment.
  • Strong verbal, visual, and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of business requirements and convert into technological architectures.
  • Ability to interact with providers and integrators to run evaluation processes.
  • Skills to communicate at different levels (directors, engineers, …) to disseminate architecture propositions.
  • Project management experience to keep track of transformation programs.
  • Dynamic attitude, self-learner and proactive.
  • Ability to manage differences to achieve common goals and effectively manage teams



  • Strong knowledge in the APIs design area: JSON and YAML descriptive languages, Swagger 2.0, Open API 3.0.
  • Knowledge of authentication methods: OAuth 2.0,…
  • Knowledge of HTTPs standards: Error codes, headers,…
  • Expertise in digital services development: Web languages (PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript), compiled programming languages (JAVA, C++, Python).
  • Knowledge of GIT Code repositories.
  • Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure monitoring technology and zero-touch operation.
  • Knowledge of LINUX, BASH and APACHE.
  • Knowledge of public cloud services and cloud architecture.
  • Ability to understand network architectures and protocols.
  • Knowledge of API testing in lab environment and API lifecycle tools: Postman, Mustache templates, JIRA (or similar), Gherkin,...



  • Experience on the following activities will be valuable:
    • Microservices development
    • API Quality assurance
    • Telco networks: new technologies, protocols, and Network architectures (5G)
    • CI/CD technologies
    • Containers based technology (Kubernetes)



  • English and Spanish languages are mandatory
  • Portuguese will be considered
