What to expect

• Identifying and sourcing new investment opportunities 
• Analyzing startups, teams and markets e.g. in latest tech trends like 5G & Metaverse 
• Participating in all due diligence steps, including researching customer references, assessing competitive positioning, modelling finances and unit economics, understanding macro trends 
• Networking by attending events and conferences and speaking to other key contacts in the industry and represent Wayra in the ecosystem 
• Building strong relationships with founders of top-notch startups, VCs, investors and internal stakeholders
• Supporting to constantly improve team processes and operations   
• Supporting in portfolio management (participation in board meetings, reporting to our Telefónica’s global headquarter) 
• Ownership of accounting processes (like invoicing and startup payments) 

What you bring

• Strong academic background from a top-tier university, in engineering/IT, economics or similar 
• First experience working in tech, startup, venture capital, consulting, IB environment 
• Strong analytical and financial skills 
• Highly organized and the ability to work well in small teams in a structured, independent and result-oriented manner 
• Intellectual curiosity and a genuine interest for new technologies, innovation, entrepreneurial and investment ecosystems 
• Eagerness to learn, to take on responsibilities and ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new topics 
• Positive, open-minded, entrepreneurial spirit and proactive "can-do" mentality 
• Structured way of working and navigating smartly through projects and processes in a dynamic environment 
• An established network in the European tech ecosystem is a plus 
• German-speaking preferred, English proficiency is a must
