About the Team


The Data Products team within O2 Digital’s New Product Innovation function has been created to drive forward innovation in our data insight products. We work across the transport, retail, media and smart cities sectors to deliver insights based on a diverse range of datasets, including data created by O2’s mobile network, data from other parts of O2 and data created by IOT sensors.


About the Role


The Transport Product Owner will lead the development of transport products and the delivery of travel insights. They will set priorities for developing our transport methodologies, liaising with our product management and sales team and with Telefonica Tech. They will also be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of projects for customers using these products, ensuring that an appropriate methodology is used and that outputs are delivered on-time, in-budget and in line with client expectations.


Key Responsibilities


  • Lead the development of new and improved transport methodologies and products.
  • Support the product management and commercial team by providing sales collateral and input to proposals, and attending sales and project meetings with customers
  • Delivering analytical outputs to transport clients based on mobile phone location data.
  • Co-ordinate a small team of analysts to deliver projects.
  • Manage, coach and train other analysts to promote excellence in the team.


Key Skills and Experience Required


  • Good degree in a relevant subject (Computer Science, Maths, Physical Sciences or similar) or equivalent professional experience
  • Experienced in analysing data and presenting and visualising complex ideas to customers
  • Good standard of written and spoken English
  • Experience of solving complex problems
  • Experience of using code to analyse data
  • Experience of working collaboratively and leading small teams
  • Sector expertise in the delivery of transport insights – either in-house or with a consultancy




  • Master’s Degree in transport planning, modelling or a related field
  • Experience with SQL and/or Python
  • GIS experience
  • Agile project management experience
  • Experience of providing insights in the rail or transport modelling industry
