About the Team:

 

Business Operations is made up of number of key functional areas all focused on providing a safe and secure environment in which our people and customers can operate.   We deliver our services to both internal and external customers every day and we provide the infrastructure (exc. IT and Network) upon which the business operates.

 

Your Role:

 

  • To provide tactical and strategic fraud management solution optimisation to address loss across a range of different fraud types (Payment, application fraud, account takeover etc.) focusing on the high priority current and emerging fraud threats and transforming our defences appropriately.   
  • To lead on our card payment & usage/transaction infrastructure & defences
  • To proactively horizon scan and identify solutions to develop a world class Fraud Operations function  and where technology investment is required drive the business case for both capex and opex commitment, following product and vendor assessment.
  • To lead on 3rd party vendor relationships and create real value from those partnerships
  • To deliver robust management information to inform strategic thinking and understanding.
  • To improve operational efficiency within the Fraud Operations team by delivering strong KPI benchmarking, trend analysis and performance measurements
  • To manage any Fraud Operations change impacting initiatives through to delivery.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • To ensure focus, resource and effort or people & technology is directed at the most high-risk fraud areas affecting Telefonica UK
  • To ensure opportunities for improvements in Fraud Operations are identified and acted upon, whether these are tactical countermeasures, process improvements, strategic programmes or technology change.
  • To ensure any change initiative deployed delivers against the agreed key satisfaction and financial measures.
  • To act as business owner for any fraud prevention projects and initiatives
  • To actively engage and collaborate with key stakeholders across the business to ensure that Fraud prevention strategy is aligned to key objectives, deliverables and business strategy across Telefonica UK.
  • Be a subject matter expert in the realms of payment, application and account take over fraud types

 

Skills & experience:

 

Essential:

 

  • Knowledge of counter fraud environments in any sector; ideally Telco but including financial, retail, Online environments.
  • Card payment fraud experience including knowledge of banking and card scheme practices and payment service provider processes
  • Fraud solution optimisation experience; rules refinement, performance metric development & sandbox thinking
  • 3rd party vendor relationship management experience
  • Analytical in approach & able to demonstrate benefits of change
  • Ability to interrogate data and overcome source data challenges
  • Business case development
  • Excellent leadership, collaboration & motivation skills
  • Effective communication and ability to influence a wide variety of stakeholders across the business Excellent co-ordination and planning skills with ability to manage multiple work streams
  • Strong collaboration and relationship building capability
  • People management
