Category Manager Transport Networks (m/w/d) - 12 Months Fixed Term Contract

What you’ll be doing?
The Category Manager in Transport Networks will focus his/her activities in the procurement processes according to Telefónica’s Procurement Model.
He/She will be responsible to lead End to End negotiations with global partners across the Telefonica Group (Europe, UK and Hispam Operation Business).
Based on his/her experience will develop the Category Strategy using spend reports, Benchmarks, technology trends, contractual maps for Transport Networks.
The Category Leader contributes to the company’s objectives delivering procurement savings and achieving efficiencies working closely with many other teams to align the End-to-End operational requirements during the product negotiation and selection phase among the group for:
• Optical Transmission Networks (xWDM solutions)
• MW (Radiolinks Networks)
• Transport Networks Technologies
Key Accountabilities:
• Analyse the purchase requests and the technical specifications, collaborating when necessary with the budget holders in the creation of the specifications.
• Promote, supervise and fulfil activities for getting and managing demand from different OBs. Manage the identification of budgets and their availability and accuracy as per the budgeting criteria in Telefónica.
• Promote and contribute to homogenization of the specifications of the products/services under his/her manage, with the aim of easing the purchase management, taking advantage of the existing synergies and improving the negotiation results.
• Manage the global purchases of products/services under his/her responsibility, defining the purchase strategy oriented to obtain the best results in the negotiation and the satisfaction of the internal client.
• Manage the request, reception, analysis and homogenization of supplier offers and negotiation with them.
• Lead negotiations with vendors according to the objectives of every purchase.
• Promote the development and implementation of best practices.
• Highly Focus on Total Cost Ownership (TCO) analysis.
What you bring along?
• University degree in Electronic/Telecommunications/Electric Engineering, Computer Science or relevant studies according to the Categories identified.
• At least 5 years of proven technical experience in the targeted areas or proven experience in purchasing Network categories.
• Technical acknowledge of one or more of the Categories identified.
• Technical acknowledge of the Telefónica’s networks structures and technologies used.
• Good understanding of Telefonica’s Procurement Model and the correspondent Rules.
• Negotiation and influencing skills, to be applied with vendors.
• Knowledge of the market and suppliers of the product/services under his/her responsibility.
• Customer-focused skills, to deliver the best possible service to Telefonica’s companies.
• Results and objective oriented
• English and Spanish fluent written and spoken. German would be a plus.
