In Medium Business sales, we focus on UK businesses between 10-99 employees to deliver ICT and digital solutions that support our customers on their transformation journey, helping them be more efficient and reducing their costs thus underpinning their future success. 

Acquisition roles play a pivotal role in the practice model, they are responsible for winning and on boarding Medium Business customers typically who require between 10 - 99 mobiles.



How will you fit into this?


The purpose of this role is to be a key member of the Medium Business Acquisition Sales Team within the private sector. You will be expected to win new logos to O2 with a mobile first strategy, capitalising on our rich heritage and using this to open the doors to other digital services. You’ll be expected to deliver on this through maximising opportunities where the requirements are typically below 99 mobiles, but could be more dependent upon the customer requirements.

The role is desk based, but the ability to work remotely and the option to travel to client meetings around the UK may also be required from time to time.



Some of the more specific responsibilities:


  • Delivery of all personal KPI’s and targets, specifically focussed on new connections, contract value and profit, identifying and winning new revenue streams across mobile & ICT digital products
  • Translate customer requirements in to sales opportunities
  • Presenting complex bespoke proposals to key customer decision makers, typically at C suite or Business owner level
  • Having a full understanding of Telefonica O2 O2’s products and services across both mobile and ICT Digital services, creating tailored value propositions for your prospects
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities at the same time, and navigate through internal process and sales governance to meet customer timescales
  • Own the customer sales cycle end to end delivering the highest standards of service until the account has been successfully handed over to the relevant teams.
  • Keeping CRM and Pipeline up to date and cleansed at all times.
  • Generating a rolling pipeline as defined by the department for sales opportunities via all relevant channels.
  • Strong team player and an ability to pro-actively and effectively work across departments and work streams ensuring the right outcome is achieved.
  • Clear pursuit plans to maximise sale opportunity.
  • Take personal ownership for your development, market knowledge, network and delivery



What we need from you:



  • Ability to perform in a sales target driven environment
  • Ideally strong acquisition experience, but we are flexible to consider Account Managers who can show the passion and sales drive 
  • Ability to translate complex customer needs in to bespoke solutions
  • Strong ability to present bespoke solutions back to customers, typically to C-Suite or Business owners
  • Proven sales negotiation skills in a B2B setting
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Apps – Powerpoint, Excel, MS Teams, Word etc
  • Track record of sales success in a mobile environment
  • A good understanding of sales methodologies such as BANT
  • Pipeline management skills; developing and growing own pipeline to deliver business goals



  • You will be a sales lead with the right attitude and behaviours that will inspire you and your team to win
  • You will need to demonstrate confidence both internally and externally demonstrating a good understanding of the challenges in Medium Business’ and be able to articulate the why O2 story
  • You will be required to demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit so that you win in the market place
  • We are looking for someone with an open attitude and inherent drive to learn 



  • Knowledge of Mobility needs, digital products and services, security and ICT portfolio are preferable but not all are mandatory
  • knowledge is preferable
  • Strong telephone skills and ability to meet clients in a customer-facing environment as required and good written and spoken English
  • Knowledge of typical internal corporate business processes and how to ensure the swift delivery of projects would be advantageous
  • Strong focus on forecasting and  ‘numbers’ management
  • Strong experience in using the Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, MS Teams etc.
