The Chair of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences operates a private 5G campus network with Telefónica Germany for research purposes. The cooperation aims to research innovative use cases at the intersection of IoT, AI, mixed realities and their combined applications in industries.
As part of the cooperation, the opportunity to write a master thesis including practical implementation of at least one use case is offered. Within the scope of this student research project, the use case shall be conceptualized and brought to a demonstration status. Derived from the use cases and the available hardware at Telefonica and at the chair at the Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences, a joint showcase for the presentation of the use case shall be developed.
What to expect
- Exploring challenges in combining IoT, AI and mixed realities
- Examining the possibilities of using 5G in Industrial IoT and advanced computing
- Deriving use cases at the intersection of IoT, AI and mixed realities, e.g. in the steering of AGVs
- Elaboration of a reference scenario of the application
- Hands-on implementation of scenario at Telefónica Germany
- Presentation of the scenario in a demonstrative showcase in the testing areas of Telefónica
